That’s It, Zamora And Panstil Have Gone.

It has now been confirmed by both the West Ham Official Site and the Fulham Official Site that Bobby Zamora and John Panstil have both signed for Fulham as of today.

Two words: Gutted, Gutted. (one for each)

The combined deal has been finalised at £6.3m for both players with the potential of rising by a further £1m depending on appearances.

I am honestly disappointed by this so I won’t go on, but I would like to stand and applaud both player’s services to the club.

You have both been exceptionally loyal and will both be missed by all

My concern now is that I don’t think this money will be going towards transfers. It’s just a hunch but something had to pay Terrence Brown off.

Sam

According to our Poll, this really wasn’t something that our fans wanted to see…certainly not over selling Carlton Cole anyway

Wore these to every game this year. They may not be lucky, but they're comfy:

    1. Gutted, gutted and gutted again.

I’d go further than saying Cole and Boa Morte, what about Neill and Bellamy ! One permanently injured and one with no ball control or passing ability whatsoever. Dont see how getting rid of the Z man and Pantsils gonna help the wage bill.

I dont reckon Pantsil was ever given the chance that he deserved and I think he had a lot to offer from the few times I saw him. my question is Carlton Cole giving Curbishley a good gnoshing in the shower room or what ?

I still think we’ve got problems as a club attracting half decent signings because of the presence of Curbishley. We can only dream of the sort of signings Redknapp would have attracted by now, and I think its fair to say we would have been knocking at the door of a top 5 or 6 finish by now if he had been here still.

Something just dont sit right here for my money..

    4. Good money for average players. I personally think that we have done well out of it. I have never been a fan of BZ. Loyal, yes, but still only average. Look at his goals to games conversion rate. Good luck to the pair of them. I honestly mean that. But WHU will never win anything with players of that calibre and before the abusive posts start, I am fully aware that there are many other players that are only average that we need to move on.

    5. Sam, i think your poll results have it spot on. Personally my vote went for Bobby to stay but i have this sneaky feeling that it was’nt allways injuries that precluded him from team selection! Therefore to get approx. £5,000,000 for a player that was not going to be used, must be considered good business.
As for TrevorH’s comment “good money for average players” – a George Orwellesque phrase could read “All players are average but some are more average than others”.If Fulham had purchased Pantsil and Cole then i would expect a drop in price of approx. £2,000,000. Both average players in Trevors eyes, so why the difference?
As for’goals to games’ ratios- swap this for ‘goals per minutes permitted on the pitch’ for a more accurate ability assessment!
Good luck to them both at Fulham and a special thanks to Bobby for some great Barclaycard moments e.g. play off final and the goal at Highbury – priceless!
