[Transfer Window Latest] McCartney Joins Sunderland. Sorry, What? [28 COMMENTS]

This is just an update for people who may not have heard yet, but George McCartney has re-joined Sunderland in a 4-year deal (Sky Sports has confirmed it is actually a 5-year deal. I’m sure that’s what he signed with us recently) for £4.5million.

Now, I’m going to take Curbishley by his word. He said earlier in the window that we have to judge him by the end of the window But if he does not provide us with a replacement left-back, who is an actual real left-back…not Lucas Neill or Louis Boa Morte or Jonathon Spector, I will be furious.

I will post back at the end of the window.

(We have also been linked with Joey Barton (erm no thanks) and Henrik Larsson has denied reports linking him to West Ham…I am not happy, but we will see)

    3. Sam, like you I am amazed that Linda has gone. I now fear that the club is in the hands of an assett stripper. I don’t think AC had a say in the transfer, the blame rests with the board. I hoped for stabillity under BG but this is no different to the Brown era.

    6. If he doesn’t have a proper and quality left back coming in I’ll be furious. Rumours of Ferreira are not the answer. Neither is Neill or Spector. Stella was my player of the season last year and at this point in the window this looks like a really bad decision.

please sell the club to people who want to progress and not sell the club to finance a shitty airline!!!!!!

    9. i didn’t say where i heard that quote from curbishley about us judging him by the end of the window…it’s from an interview he did with the guardian after we sold bobby z and johnny p….his exact quote is, “we all move on so you will have to see what we do. People are talking about us and what we are doing, but just have a look at what we do by the time the window closes and see where we are at”

Curbishley (and the board) you have 3 and a half hours left. Every single West Ham fan will be looking at you by then and we will all want to see where you are at. So far we are a whole lot worse off than when we started the window. Really good job, well done. I suppose I would have done the same thing….sell our only actual left back at the club. Really really really good idea. One of your best.

But it’s ok, we have LBM to replace him. YEAAAAh.

3 and a half hours is a long while though…it’s not as if we have had months to bring someone in or anything.

If nothing happens by 12 tonight (and I will stay up) I will continue this rant………………

    19. I am absolutely furious with curbishley WAT IS HE DOING!! McCartney not a big name but for me he was an under rated full back and was fantastic for us!!! Etherington especially needs a good left footed full back behind him not crappy captain Lucas Neill. Curbs if u dont sign a new left back in the next hour I look forward to your replacement.

Selling McCartney is stupid !, We looked good v blackburn when McCarthey came on and Berhami could get forward – this season is looking like a joke already and those icelandic tossers are beginning to p*** me off. After banning KUMB from thE ground and stopping Hammers news they are trying to stop real fans having a say – be happy if we avoid relegation at the moment !

    26. Good evening everybody.

Are we feeling ‘just’ as disgruntled as yours truly at this precise moment?

Or perhaps, once again, completely short-changed and deflated, as the current gates at the Boleyn would suggest?

Or alternatively, so funked off with the ‘firewall’ that encompasses our beloved Hammers? Where we – none of us – have no notion of what ‘on Earth’ is transpiring within its opaque and clandestine buttress, (Forged by B.Gudmundsson and the rest of the Icelan-dic fleet/cabal; indubitably augmented by Messrs Brown and Joorbachim),or indeed the conflagration that may follow?

Well, it’s currently 10.30 p.m as I scribble a few lines to you, and as per usual with the good Ol’ Hammers – NUFFINGS F’INGWELL DOIN, MATE !

Except that is; Sheffield’s legal case is still sizzling away on the back-burner, soon to rear its ugly head no doubt. Had we all forgotten about that in the oblivion that has become the ermmmmmmm ‘excitement’….? of the transfer deadline.

We have just sold our, in my opinion very good, only legitimate left-back, who will not be replaced at this late stage.

      The question is why……….. ?

Why would our unscrupulous covern of spindly-fingered little goblin ‘FUCKS’ ! – please excuse me :) – be doing this to us yet again?

      Mmmmmmmmm ? Any Ideas ?

Any suggestions would be welcome at this moment in time, or shall I proceed.

Ok, you forced my arm . :)

Now, the truth is, I haven’t a funking scooby either, yet there are some salient questions to be asked and indeed answered on the subject at hand.

You see, when I observe ‘every’ single other club, (excluding Rich-Manc, who let’s face it, are in a similar situation as JayKay being bought a new Ferrari – I.e ‘no, cheers mate, but I’ve got that marque already, in every spectrum of the rainbow including one with a pink furry steering wheel and funking matching upholstery) – draws a breath – having completed a raft of signings, including Hull, Fulham, Baggies – I digress with a sigh – then what the bugger are Gudmundson’s rapers and pillagers up to this time . Hmmmmmm…..what indeed ?

Well, permit me to speculate. stokes his chin, reclines and has a contempaltive moment.

This following really is conjecture I assure you, but please read on :)

Ok…….currently we have sold, and sold, and sold
      - please excuse me again – where our only incoming signature was that of a Mr Swiss Byriani (It has added cheese n chocolate apparently) at £5 million, and latsvuka on a free – WHICH DOESN’T COUNT!!! he bellowed with such ferocity, that the ground shuddered beneath him, and every window and mirror in the street smithereened into slithers of silicon powder :)
Yep I’m just ever so slightly angry – That’ll teach me to turn the Dark Side.

But hold on to yer boxers for just a second me ‘Ammers. According to one of me esteemed colleagues/OLAS scribblers, allegedly, and following along nicely with the official site’s customary and endless prevaracations (Well, nothing new there), Mr Behrami only really cost us ONE, yes ‘ONE’ Million, which I suppose accounts for the pseudo-undisclosed fee, cursorily ensued by a statement of the aforementioned inflated sum. Talk about ‘Pants On fire’ ! I ask yer !

I think they must have observed and garnered the strategem of ‘absolute, out and out, lying until you start believing yer own bullshit’ tactics of the incumbent government, don’t you?

I mean, we’ve been force fed such an innordinate amount of the stuff – from all quarters including the board – that I’m sitting here, actually not knowing for sure that I’m really sitting here (sniggers), and where I’m certain they are going to knock on my door and demand my over-burdened/fed liver for a a tastey frois-gras to accomany a glass of their finest Chianti.
No, I’m not going to even attempt the Hannibal Lecter thing, don’t even if you ask me, I’m far too pissed at the moment. and I haven’t even so much as sniffed a drop of the good stuff, although you might think differently. :)

Ok, I’m rambling again :) , I’ll come precipitately back to the subject matter.

So, Behrami was a mil – and nothing else doing. Mmmmmmmm……he mulled gutturally.

Ok, let’s add it up shall we ? Let’s tot up this colossal conundrum and ‘Av a ponder’, he said iromnically.

      Ok, takes a breath.

Apporximately 33 mil for last season’s tenth + 6 – 7 mil depending on who you listen to for Z-man and Pants, then 8 mil for Anton, now 5 mil for Heather, and perhaps, no funk it I can’t even go there, 18 for Ashton (Hastily flagelates himself with a bladed flail) fuck sake and whoever else ?

That – without Deano – and forgetting ‘Camp Freddy’ (money greabbing little fuckwit) is a staggering grand total of 52 funking million, in the black !!!!! ‘Excluding’ Deano !!!!! Flagelates himself again.

So, Why this now? Against each and every ‘Ammers fan wishes, Curbs statements – laughable, yet overruled – and just about anyone else who actually does give a monkey’s about the ‘Ammers?

      Well, here goes then:

Two theories, ummmm…..no, three, but seeing as the third holds some relationship with the transfer window, I somehow doubt it.

      1. We ’should’ have heard by now the outcome of the Blunt’s case ! Absolutely no doubt about it, the adjudication booard sat months ago; a final descision, although delayed ( Why ?) was definitely to be concluded late August. Well, this is funking late enough for me fellers – Time to fess up ! Spill the beans !

So, with this in mind, is this ’swilling excess’ of blood money indeed a pay-off for those utter toss-rags?
I cannot even conceive of that either ! (Immediatley hurls all of his razor blades out of the window for fear of futher self mutilation) 40 mil. no funking way !

      2. Or a simple case of asset stripping (Good possibility here – Mr G doesn;t give a rat’s about football, strictly business), which let’s be honest has happened before, and will likely happen again ! Well, If yer club’s called West Ham United F.C !!!
Resulting in Gudmundson abrogating his losses, walking away, handing over the keys to Kia and Brown, who holding hands with glee, sight yet another opportunity to funking rip us completely the funk off !

      3. They actually do have a new manager on the sidelines, and don’t want Curbs to spend a single penny – Very Unlikely now the window is nearly closed.

      4. Well, I did say three, but can you think of a fourth ? Any other reason for this palpable disparity between us and the likes of Fulham, WBA, Stoke – Yes, Stoke ! – and just about every other club in the entire league ! I’m dumbfounded. Guess we’ll find out soon in the papers.

Comon – I’d like your views on a fourth concept. Be brave, or a complete loonatic like me for a change.

      God Bless You All

To follow on – keep yer eyes peeled. According to KUMB, alwyas a good source for The Claret n Blue fodder, the board are to make an announcement at midnight !!!!!

      Sounds funking ominous doesn’t it.

Probably just another season ticket hike, I shoudln’t worry, he said tremulously.

    29. My whole-hearted acquiescence, Dan C.

Not a funking dicky bird, and a calamitous start to the new season as far as personel is concerned.

Now imagine one injury – just one……..and you know it’s gonna happen don’t you.

I’m just wondering if the board are concealing themselves under a rock at the moment for fear of what the fans may, or may not do.

I allude to the discernible lack of attendance at the previous two games. Funking disgrace really, but the only thing that will get the board’s attention me feels.

I believe we are going to see many an empty seat this season, I also believe that Mr G will end up selling or giving us away.

As for Curbs, although he is not culpable for ‘all’ of these farcical shananigans, he is still a complete cnut ! Period.

I don’t think he’d be able, well….. ‘is not’ clearly able, to lure a ball-boy to this club, let alone a quality player to take us forward.

Well, actually that’s a lie, Rigor seems to have a distinct lack of balls, so I’m sure that he would be adept at collecting them after a day’s training session – wanker!

Yep, let’s sell decent players who are not a drain on the wage bill, keep good ‘ol Rigor, Quashie (Who?), Neil, bla bla fucking bla !!

It makes you want to heave doesn’t it.

Well, for all those who blamed me for negativity pre-seasom – there you have it ! Gift-wrapped with ribbons and a personal message from the board.

If you support West Ham – We don’t give a funk !

Killing the club? apart from the dreaded R word it’s dead already ! I sincerely hope we don’t get that as an end of season gift too. Would round it off fucking nicely wouldn’t it.

Can it get any worse – YES! Wait for the Blunts decision, which now with the window closed, seems imminent.

Throw your season ticket back at them and demand a refund?

Yep, that along with a couple of dislodged seats and a barrow load of bricks would do just fine.

I can’t recall having ‘ever’ felt this disillusioned two games into a season in all my years supporting the club.

Oh yeah, I’ll carry on scribbling in the fanzine, it’s about the only true thing we have left, but I shouldn’t expect much else except verbal invectives to be scrawled unceremoniusly from pen to glossy insert.

I don’t know…….I’m totally funked off with it all. It’s late, I’m tired, and I don’t think on this occassion the morning will make me feel the slightest bit better.

In fact, with this so-called impending board statement, all I can forsee is just another load of old bollox from Duxbury and Co. And perhaps more woe.

Sorry Irons, it’s just the way I feel. and the way things are.

It seems tme to stage a real protest, and I’m not talking a token banner waving session at the Boleyn.

I think ths club, thinking they could take the piss out of us monetarily at every opportunity got it badly wrong with the Maclesfield game. 10k, it was more like 8 – another funking lie !

You know I don’t want to see ‘any’ harm come to this club. If you read my rhytmical stuff you know I’d pretty much run under the London City’s entire fleet of buses before I let that happen !

Then, they’d still have to restrain me in a straigh-jacket.

But let me tell you, you the only way they are going to listen – although too late now, the window’s come an gone – is for a mass exodus on chosen games.

It already occured without pre-meditation at the Macclesfield game.

Dare I say, the same thing at a televised Utd game at home would do the trick. Who knows.

Ok, gnite all – what a load of cobblers.

      God Bless Ya.

    30. What you are experiencing is normally only felt when a premiership team is relegated. When our left footed full back was sold to you for £1M we knew he was good, he was a favourite of our fans a young player with considerable potential. He was also from Memory injured and we were in severe financial trouble and had to unload players like hotcakes to get their wages off the monthly bill and a feww pennies in the coffers.

The fact that you bought him on the cheap had a good few years service and sold at a profit won’t be much consolation but he is going home which will apparently please his wife.

We can now put Bardsley back in his right sided position and pray that Keane can turn Ferdinand into a half decent player because I for one was not convinced on that signing.

    31. yourcomments@westhamunited.co.uk- is the official place to post your comments on the club, its a link from the offical website, I have just written an email describing my feelings, it probably wont get read, or even if it does probably will not make much difference, but it made me feel better for a bit, and if the club gets a lot, something might happen, there is not a home game for 18 days, so if your as angry as me and cant wait till then to let the board know, how pi55ed of you are, use that!
