Donate To The Bobby Moore Fund, with the West Ham Blogs
I felt it important that we as West Ham fans, in the face of everything that is happening to us and to football, showed the rest of the footballing world a sign of solidarity and selflessness. And in the meantime showed the West Ham board what Bobby Moore means to us.
The West Ham blogs on NewsNow (myself, Joe J of Cmonyuirons.com, Joppe of Bubble-View, RapidHammer, Ryan of West Ham Daily News and Simon from Westhamblog.co.uk) have got together in order to encourage a splurge of donations to the Bobby Moore Fund. We felt it so important that in the light of everything, we got together on this and did something life-changing. Expect some articles about this from them in the very near future! (if you would like to promote this too using your blog, drop me an email westhamprocess[at]onyahead[dot]com)

We may never get the BMF logo on the shirts and it would appear that no amount of making our own versions and sticking them on will change that. But a simple donation to the BMF from everyone of our readers will literally put it in writing to the club what he means to us and to football…and change lives on the way.

I have set the bar high with a target of £5,000, but I reckon we can do it. (Especially because a little known club at the foot of the table are able to raise substantial money just to keep websites going!!)
Come on you IRONS!!

Good luck with the Bobby Moore thing, truly a great player.
But I can’t agree with your ‘good news for football’ comment.
By retaining your status in the PL and breaking the rules at the same time your board have tarnished the name of your good club. However harsh it may have seemed, just like Athletics, anyone not prepared to play by the rules should be excluded.
You should have been relegated. The fact the FAPL thought you would anyway and tried to second guess this by hoping to fine you and you lose your FAPL status was absurd at the time.
Nobody wants to see football dragged through the courts with appeal and counter appeal, but the men in suits who are sitting idly by made this by not choosing a suitable punishment which should have punished WH for rule breaking and compensated the other 19 teams who did stick to the rules restrictions.

Are Sheffield United not also guilty of breaking rules too chapagneblade? I remember an agreement between sheff utd and watford involving a certain Steve Kabba. If we should be relegated for breaking rules so should you. At the end of the day you only had to scupper a few points to stay up and you didn’t,we managed to turn almost certain relegation into a great escape against the likes of arsenal and man utd, who deserves to be there more? You wern’t good enough for the prem and you never will be.

chelms iron…Clubs have done that ‘gentleman’s agreement’ for years, WHAM included no doubt. Besides a certian Marlon King kept him out of the side anyway, probably would’ve not played anyway … at least he was registered to be entitled to play. if you think that cheating and telling porkies is the way to go about your business then you need say no more.

Guys, here is not the place to discuss who did and didn’t break the law.
This article is about a true footballing legend. Who played football with his feet and his head and was not driven by money!
Also, Sheffield United fans, I realise that Bobby Moore never played for you, but if you could muster a donation to the fund it would be hugely appreciated…by everyone! We can all unite on this

Good shout Sam, totally agree … I’m afraid the author of the intro sets the wrong tone, seems his obsession with the Blades is out of control

I cannot understand why some people still persist in arguing that the EPL should have relegated West Ham for breaching EPL rule 18 in respect of the Tevez and Mascherano acquisitions. The EPL’s rules of conduct did not include mandatory relegation, nor even mandatory points deduction for infringement of its rules, instead giving its disciplinary body the discretion to arrive at whatever punishment it considered appropriate.
West Ham pleaded guilty and accepted its punishment, a record fine. At the time the punishment was meted out, no-one believed that West Ham had a realistic chance of avoiding the drop, anyway.
But West Ham contrived to avoid the relegation which most commentators had thought inevitable, by stirring and gutsy performances on the pitch, which is where football matters ought to be decided.

it says on the back of his biography by tina moore:
“it really sunk in how much he meant to the fans. Forget the Prime Minister and Prince Charles, forget John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger. That night Bobby was the most famous man in England”
Ladies and gentleman, Bobby Moore, a true legend! Let’s get behind this initiative guys
