I’ve been speaking to a mate of mine who works for an architecture firm in Brentwood, and he’s been able to put together some mockups as to what the Olympic Stadium could look like if it was to become the new home of West Ham.
Obviously they’re not official! Still they are a good way to visualise where we could be playing in a few years.
I’m still a little undecided as to whether I think it will be the right thing to do, or whether I actually want it to happen, but for now it’s a reality that it could happen…quick poll here just to see what everyone else thinks:
Three points at the weekend

Absolutely sensational mate. It’s a must-have in my view. And here’s another thing: I met Boris Johnson at a drinks reception earlier in the week, and asked him about the prospects. His exact response: “I’d love to see it, but tell the pornographer (this is Boris, bear in mind) we need to see the colour of his money and talk to him quickly, very quickly. But of course we don’t want to cut the size of the stadium if we don’t have to do it, I’d definitely back it. Definitely.” Get in there…

While I commend the effort in doing these, you would have to hope the seats wouldn’t be set up anything like they are here… looks bloody shocking as a football venue.

Bring it on, i think it would be a FANTASTIC thing to happen to the Hammers and about time we got a stadium of a size that would enable us to compete with the so called bigger clubs

im all up for this, but those images magnify and prove the underlying problem, that the field of play in that stadium is just far to big to ever be used as a football pitch without massive modifications.
Realistically we need to almost rebuild the stadium for us specifically and use warm up area for the legacy stadium. I believe there is £100M for the legacy conversion put by, remind me how the emeriates cost…

hi guys,i’m the one who done the images.
i must say when i was zooming aroudn the stadium and looking at it from different perspectives, the pitch to really far away. but maybe west ham could put more seats around the edge like the sapporo dome in japan. if you look at that on youtube to see how the seats move around to fit in with different events, it’s amazing.
i’d like to move to straford, we haven’t really had a successful past compared to our london rivals.
we have to take some negatives before we get possitives on the pitch, afterall we wouldn;t want whu to die.

I’d be up for a move if they can solve the running track issue. Sad as it would be to leave the Boleyn I think the club can only progress with a larger stadium with good infrastructure like the OS offers.
To add to the stadium design I would like to see 2 flipping monstrous wrought Iron crossed hammers at the front of the main stand. ~50m structures. Now that would be ace. Call the stadium the Ironworks or something like it.

I believe West Ham need to move if at all possible to grow as a club with The Boleyn being sold offto pay least some of the debts.
I cannot see it just being torn down to 25,000 after the olympics making sense.
If the reovable seats could be installed around the pitch then athletics could still be held there along with concerts etc.
I personally would love to see WHU in the Olympic stadium!

If the two Davids are going to reduce the price of the tickets they will not only get those priced out of football, but plenty of new fans too.
